Bachelor’s in Psychological Science, Counselling & Interpersonal Skill

About
I’m a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) based in Adelaide. The foundations of my practice are neuroaffirming and compassionate skill building for children with additional needs and their families.
What I do
I draw on psychology, behaviour analysis, play therapy and counselling to teach socially significant skills. Through 1:1 play-based learning with the child, and by upskilling the parents, teachers and carers around them to use neuroaffirming practices that improve the client’s quality of life.
Goals are always co-designed with the family and the young person. Common areas of focus include:
1:1 play-based learning with the child, combined with coaching for parents, teachers and carers. So the strategies that help in session also work at home, in the classroom and in the community.

About ABA
A short, honest explainer. Because the field is widely misunderstood, and you deserve a clear picture before working with anyone who practises it.
ABA is the evidence-based scientific application of behavioural principles to, first, identify the environmental variables responsible for behavioural change, and second, use those variables to improve socially significant behaviours.
In practice, ABA can involve specific intervention techniques (modelling, prompting, reinforcement, shaping), or a combination of these woven into an everyday practice in the home, school, childcare or community.
