Rise & Roar Behaviour Consulting · Adelaide

Neuroaffirming behaviour support, built on trust.

Compassionate, trauma-informed behaviour therapy for children, families, schools and allied health across Adelaide. Anchored in regulation, psychological safety and autonomy.

Here's how I can help

Support that meets you where you are

Holistic, neuroaffirming behaviour support designed around the person. Their nervous system, their relationships, their everyday life.

Children & families

Individualised, neuroaffirming support that prioritises regulation, connection and choice. Never compliance for its own sake.

Schools & teachers

Practical, research-grounded strategies that fit real classrooms: choice boards, low-tech communication and co-regulation routines.

Clinicians & allied health

Mentoring, workshops and shared resources for compassionate, evidence-based behaviour analytic practice.

The order matters

Regulation, safety, communication. Then skills

For all learning opportunities, first there must be regulation. Everything else is built on top. Never the other way around.

  1. 01

    Regulation first

Before anything else, we attend to the nervous system. Learning, communication and connection rely on a regulated body. For both the young person and the people around them.

  2. 02

    Psychological safety & trust

We move at the pace of trust. Rapport, predictability and respect for autonomy come before any goal. And stay with us through every session.

  3. 03

    Functional communication

Accessible communication, across moments of dysregulation, is non-negotiable. We build options that work without compromising trust or autonomy.

  4. 04

    Skill building, in context

Only once regulation, safety and communication are in place do we explore skills. Chosen with the person, embedded in the life they actually live.

How we’re different

A different kind of ABA practice

We work from a neuroaffirming, trauma-assumed lens. Informed by compassionate practice, co-regulation research (including Dr Paul Gilbert's work) and the lived experience of the people we support.

Neuroaffirming, not compliance-based

Autistic and neurodivergent ways of being are not problems to fix. We support the person, not the diagnosis.

Trauma-informed by default

We assume trauma may be present and lead with safety, choice and collaboration. For the young person and their family.

Holistic & quality-of-life focused

Goals are co-created with the person and family, anchored in real choices and meaningful quality of life. Not arbitrary milestones.

Research-informed, plainly explained

We translate the evidence base for ABA, co-regulation and compassionate care into language that families and educators can actually use.

Frequently asked

Common questions

A few of the things parents, teachers and clinicians ask before we work together.

What makes your approach different to other ABA in Adelaide?

We practise neuroaffirming, trauma-informed behaviour analysis. That means regulation, psychological safety and functional communication come before skill targets, and goals are co-designed with the person and their family. Focused on quality of life and autonomy.

Who do you support?

Children, teenagers and their families, as well as teachers, clinicians and allied health colleagues looking for compassionate, evidence-based behaviour support and training.

Do you work with NDIS participants?

Yes. We share clear, plain-language explainers about NDIS supports, advocacy, and how compassionate behaviour analytic services can fit alongside other allied health.
